My name is Daniel Kiss, I am a journalist from Budapest.
I have been involved with foreign affairs journalism the past 3 years, however, it was the type of work that you do in the comfy office, sitting in your comfy chair, and just being comfy in general.
Life and death becomes just a number with such a work, importance is decided by how many die.
Numbers, however, do not allow you to even scratch the surface of how things really are. Numbers are for statistics, or in news, quickly digestible information.
Personal stories, on the spot experience can at least give a glimpse of what is going on in a certain country.
So I took the little money I had, bought a camera, and came to Ukraine, a country I have a personal connection with.
Hopefully I will be able to help my audience understand this country just a little bit better while this project lasts.
